About The Event
Join Rapport Therapeutics for a virtual key opinion leader (KOL) event featuring Mauricio Tohen, MD, DrPH, MBA (University of New Mexico Health Science Center), and Gary Sachs, MD (Massachusetts General Hospital, Harvard Medical School), who will join company management to discuss the unmet need and current treatment landscape for bipolar mania.
The event will provide an overview of RAP-219, the Company’s clinical-stage TARPγ8-specific AMPA receptor (AMPAR) negative allosteric modulator (NAM) currently in development as a potential first-in-class treatment for patients with bipolar mania. The compound is also being studied as a potential treatment for drug-resistant focal onset seizures, with Phase 3 trials underway. A Phase 2 trial in patients with bipolar mania is ongoing, with topline data expected in October 2026.
Topics will include the underlying biology of bipolar mania and mechanistic rationale for RAP-219 as a potential treatment; challenges of treating bipolar mania patients, including limitations of the current standard of care; and the need for well-tolerated, effective new treatment options. Drs. Tohen and Sachs will also discuss the ongoing RAP-219 Phase 2 trial in bipolar mania, including practicing physicians’ perspectives on the efficacy and tolerability profile needed in a new treatment and what would define a successful trial outcome.
A live question and answer session will follow the formal presentations.
