SUMMARY:Dogwood Therapeutics Virtual KOL Event to Discuss Halneuron for the Treatment of Chemotherapeutic Induced Neuropathic Pain (CINP)
DESCRIPTION:Join Dogwood Therapeutics for a virtual key opinion leader (KOL) event featuring J. Mark Joyce\, M.D. (CNS Healthcare)\, and Iain D. Dukes\, D.Phil. (OrbiMed Advisors\, Chair Dogwood SAB)\, who will join company management to discuss the unmet need and current treatment landscape for chemotherapeutic induced neuropathic pain (CINP). \nThe event will review the novel role of the Nav 1.7 sodium ion channel in pain signaling\, which is key to the initiation and conduction of the electrical signals that the brain interprets as pain. Management will discuss Halneuron®’s selective and differentiated Nav 1.7 mechanism of action as compared to current and future Nav1.8 inhibitors. The speakers will also review prior Halneuron pre-clinical and clinical research and the design of the ongoing Phase 2b study design. Halneuron has been tested on more than 800 patients to date\, including patients suffering from cancer related pain and cancer chemotherapy induced neuropathic pain. Guest experts will discuss ion channel therapies as a newer approach to treating chronic pain\, as well as the existing unmet medical need in treating CINP. The company will provide blinded observations from the ongoing Phase 2b clinical trial in patients with established neuropathy due to their chemotherapy. \nA live question and answer session will follow the formal presentations.
